Went to the War Memorial late afternoon. Attended the Last Post Ceremony, it was well executed and actually quite moving. Well worth waiting for the ceremony. Full review by BeijingEye

Don't miss this exhibition. It's incredibly well curated, innovative exhibits that really draw you onto the various conflicts. The last post ceremony is so moving, it's a must experience. Full review by Diana B

Incredible displays and the new cold war section is well presented. A lot of construction is still occurring and at present a maximum 2 hours is the tour time you have. Will be great when completed c… Full review by Shane D
The ticket allocated by the AWM allows a 3 hour visit - are you able to stay on longer than this? It appears 3 hours is not long enough at this impressive monument.

Good question, unfortunately I was unable to answer this. When I visited, I also wanted to explore more of the WW2 section which I will on my next visit to Canberra.

Hi John, Start on the M1 until you are able to join the M2 for a short time, then join the M7 until you are able to connect with the M31 (Hume Hwy). Mostly all toll roads but you will save much angst/time and many, many traffic lights. Drive time if you stick with the speed limits will be approximately 3hours 30 - 40 minutes / often many police and speed cameras. All roads are good and virtually traffic light free. make sure you book a two-hour visit at the War Memorial; it is also my understanding you are able to book additional two hour lots online. A straight out two hours is not nearly enough to see everything on offer...good luck and enjoy!
