The sophomore season of "Bad Monkey" will not be filmed in Florida, even though the story takes place in the Keys.

When I think of Bad Monkey, I immediately think of Florida. Honestly, the Florida Keys are a character in the quirky whodunnit that’s based on Carl Hiaasen’s novels. So, I’m thrilled that we’ll get to spend another season with Vince Vaughn’s Yancy solving crimes in this wild place.

As for plot details, they're currently under wraps. But given that Carl Hiaasen's Bad Monkey has a sequel, Razor Girl, that also features Andrew Yancy – and given that Lawrence has previously said he intends to use that book to inspire the second season, you know where to go if you want some spoilers.

Bad Monkey” is a Florida show to the core. Set in the Florida Keys and based on a Carl Hiaasen book, the show’s first season was even filmed in Florida, though the state does not have a tax credit for film production.
