Cronin is penning the script for the new Mummy movie, as well as directing. He’ll have James Wan of The Conjuring movies and Jason Blum on his side as producers, along with his Evil Dead Rise producer John Keville. Other than that, we just have this Instagram teaser:

Evil Dead Rise director Lee Cronin will write and direct a new Mummy film, set for release on April 17, 2026, by New Line Cinema. The Mummy debuted in 1932, starring monster movie icon Boris Karloff.

Without Brendan Fraser, the missing ingredient to reignite the magic, it’s hard to imagine The Mummy rising from its grave the way it needs to.
