The ICC has finally reached a breakthrough in the 2025 Champions Trophy impasse, with a hybrid model agreed upon that will see India's matches in the eight-team event taking place at a neutral venue.

While the Champions Trophy is set to be held between February 19 and March 9, the schedule had not been announced due to the impasse over this issue. The PCB had categorically opposed the hybrid model but eventually agreed to it on reciprocal grounds.

Dubai or Sri Lanka are the likely neutral venues to be used, with an announcement on which will be in place for the Champions Trophy expected soon. The ruling will apply to all knockout matches and finals, raising the prospect the marquee match of the tournament hosted by either nation could be played out of country.

The ICC confirmed a hybrid model for the Men's Champions Trophy 2025 after the PCB agreed to host India games at a neutral venue. In return, Pakistan will play their ICC tournament games hosted by India at a neutral venue till 2027.
