A deadly wave of Israeli fighter jet bombings has struck Yemen, leaving at least nine people dead, following a missile attack on a school in Tel Aviv. The airstrikes are part of Israel’s retaliation against the Houthi militants who have been launching missiles and drones towards Israeli targets.

Israeli warplanes struck Houthi sites in Yemen’s capital and elsewhere in the country following an increase in missile attacks by the Iran-backed militia, including one overnight that damaged a school near Tel Aviv.

No children were present in the building. The rocket was fired as Israeli fighter jets were on their way to Yemen to target Houthi positions there.

In July, the Israeli military struck Hudaydah's port and oil infrastructure after a Houthi drone attack killed one person in Tel Aviv. It bombed Hudaydah again in September after a Houthi missile targeted Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion international airport.
