A third Kevin Owens vs. Cody Rhodes match is said to be on tap, with WWE reportedly considering the match for two major shows at the start of 2025

Kevin Owens is the "new, true WWE Champion," according to Kevin Owens. Though Owens did not defeat Cody Rhodes at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event, he did walk away with the Winged Eagle Championship after delivering a package piledriver to Rhodes. Rhodes was taken out on a stretcher while Owens took the Winged Eagle Title.

Kevin Owens has been on a vicious streak since turning heel, and he just might have enough of management getting in his way!

After Cody Rhodes retained the WWE Championship over Owens at Saturday Night’s Main Event, WWE on social media showed Owens attacking Rhodes from behind after the show went off the air, planting him with a package piledriver. As he made his way to the back, Triple H could be seen confronting Owens, shoving him as Owens was led away by referees.

"A lot of that night is still ingrained in my memory," Owens added, "from the moment I walked back from the ring, to calling my family, talking to my parents, my wife, my kids, Finn [Balor] even and his family, funny enough."

Kevin Owens made a surprise appearance at the WWE RAW on Netflix Kickoff event, and he had the Winged Eagle Title with him. At WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, Cody Rhodes defeated Kevin Owens to retain the Undisputed WWE Championship.
