The veteran quarterback completed 11 of 17 pass attempts for 112 yards, one touchdown and one interception on Monday night. After the game, head coach Raheem Morris was critical of Cousins and said the quarterback play needed to improve. Morris met with the media again on Tuesday evening and left the door open for a potential quarterback change.

Morris said the Falcons hoped Kirk Cousins would find a way to improve before they ultimately benched him for Michael Penix Jr.

The Atlanta Falcons narrowly escaped Nevada with a win in Week 15 after taking down the Las Vegas Raiders 15–9. If anything was clear from their performance on Monday night, it's that the quarterback play has been vastly underwhelming.
