Pereira took training on Friday morning before facing the media for the first time in the afternoon. In a coaching career which was propelled by back-to-back Portuguese titles with FC Porto, Pereira has coached across the world, taking in stints in Saudi Arabia, Greece, Türkiye, Germany, China and Brazil.

Wolves’ new boss Vitor Pereira said the Premier League had been his target “for a long time” and he did not think twice after being offered the job. Pereira, whose appointment was confirmed on Thursday after he had left his role at Saudi Pro League side Al-Shabab, faced the media for the first time before Sunday’s crucial game at Leicester.
