Winter weather advisories were in place for nine states across the country from the National Weather Service (NWS) early on Friday, with up to five inches of snow forecast in some areas. Winter storm warnings were also in place from the NWS in parts of Minnesota and Wisconsin earlier on Friday morning,

So it shouldn’t be surprising that the National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for the snow belt from 5 p.m. today until 10 p.m. Saturday. The advisory is for eastern Cuyahoga County, as well as Ashtabula, Geauga and Lake counties.

Warnings have been issued, with heavy snow, gusty winds, and ice threatening to disrupt travel in the countdown to Christmas.

On Friday at 3:47 a.m. a winter weather advisory was issued by the National Weather Service valid from noon until Saturday 10 p.m. for Northern Erie and Southern Erie.
