FRANKFURT—Turkish LCC Pegasus Airlines’ order for up to 200 Boeing 737-10s is not only a significant win for Boeing and the yet-to-be-certified aircraft in Europe but also represents a major flip from an operator heavily focused on Airbus.

Turkish low-cost carrier Pegasus Airlines has placed a firm order for 100 Boeing 737 Max 10s, with options for up to a further 100 of the type.

(Reuters) -With just days left in 2024, Boeing announced its single-largest commercial airplane order of the year on Thursday, when it said Turkish low-cost carrier Pegasus Airlines had placed a firm order for a hundred 737 MAX jetliners.

Pegasus Hava Tasimaciligi AS agreed to buy as many as 200 Boeing Co. 737 Max jets, giving the US manufacturer a much-needed shot in the arm in a surprise shift away from a fleet now dominated by rival Airbus SE.

Turkey's Pegasus Airlines said Thursday it would buy 200 Boeing 737 MAX 10 aircraft in its largest-ever order worth some $36 billion as it seeks to expand its service.

The Boeing Company BA recently clinched an order from Pegasus Airlines to deliver 100 of its 787-10 jets, with an additional opportunity for 100 jets. Pegasus Airlines aims to grow and modernize its single-aisle fleet.
