New York City woke up to its first white Christmas in 15 years. But only a few areas of the U.S. are likely to see snow in the weather forecast for Christmas 2024.

Nine states from Virginia to Maine are under snow alerts on Christmas Eve morning as a band of snow moves through the Northeast, bringing treacherous driving conditions.

The most updated report from AccuWeather shows that 22 states, or at least portions of those states, have a high chance at a white Christmas. Seventeen states have a low to medium chance at a white Christmas. The rest of the U.S., particularly states in the South, have zero probability of a white Christmas.
