Dylan Cozens was a rumoured trade candidate around the Buffalo Sabres, but not many expected the Ottawa Senators to be the landing spot. In a trade involving some more pieces, the leading players in the deal were Cozens to the Senators and Josh Norris and Jacob Bernard-Docker to the Sabres.

Dylan Cozens and Dennis Gilbert were traded to the Ottawa Senators by the Buffalo Sabres on Friday for Josh Norris and Jacob Bernard-Docker. Ottawa also received a second-round pick in the 2026 NHL Draft.

In the trade, which has already been made official, Buffalo lands Norris and another former first-round pick in Bernard-Docker. This season, Bernard-Docker hasn't been in the Senators' lineup often, totaling one goal and three assists through 25 games. In 2024-25, he had 14 points in 72 games.
