Kevin Underwood, 45, was executed Thursday morning after being convicted in 2008 for the 2006 murder his 10-year-old neighbor Jamie Rose Bolin.

Eight other states carried out executions in 2024, including Indiana on Wednesday for the first time in 15 years. Underwood was the fourth inmate to be executed this year in Oklahoma. He was given a lethal injection for murdering a 10-year-old neighbor,

Kevin Ray Underwood was pronounced dead at 10:14 a.m. at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary in McAlester, state Department of Corrections spokesperson Lance West said. It was Oklahoma’s fourth execution of the year, and it took place on Underwood’s 45th birthday.
