Flagg is warming up to the thought of the Mavs, and a further Duke reunion could make life in the Big D more comfortable

Some NBA executives are reportedly skeptical that likely 2025 No. 1 overall draft pick Cooper Flagg will develop into a superstar at the NBA level.

On Monday, the Dallas Mavericks stunned the NBA by winning the draft lottery and therefore the right to take Cooper Flagg, the Duke University freshman phenom, with the No. 1 overall pick in next month's draft.

But bringing Flagg in could make a few other players expendable. Dallas has a big need at point guard, as Kyrie Irving is out until at least January after tearing his ACL in March, and it could be longer than that.

Well, Giannis Antetokounmpo is reportedly "open-minded" about considering a trade away from the Milwaukee Bucks, per ESPN's Shams Charania. And that could be enormously significant for the Warriors, considering the two-time MVP has "been known to be a dream target of the Warriors for a long time," per Sam Amick of The Athletic.

Cooper Flagg said people told him he'd never play Division I basketball because of where he's from, but he's proven those doubters wrong.

One of those people includes former NBA MVP and legend Charles Barkley, who believes they should trade the pick for a two-time MVP and NBA champion in his prime, Giannis Antetokounmpo.
