Emergency services say at least 12 people died and 45 were injured when a bus overturned on a highway in the South African city of Johannesburg.

A bus lost control and flipped on a highway early Tuesday near Johannesburg's international airport, killing 16 as some were thrown from the vehicle, the transport ministry said.
