The 27-year-old Tatum tore his right Achilles tendon on Monday night against the New York Knicks when he lunged toward a loose ball and his leg gave out. He buried his face in a towel in obvious pain while grabbing at his leg above the ankle after the non-contact injury.
Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum suffered a lower right leg injury in Game 4 against the New York Knicks. Tatum was lunging for a loose ball with about three minutes left in the fourth quarter when his leg gave out, causing him to crumble to the floor in pain.
There is not word as of yet exactly what the injury is, but based on the fact that it was non-contact, and Tatum was wheeled to the locker room holding the back of his ankle, there is a belief that it is something to do with his Achilles tendon. After the game, notable Celtics fan Bill Simmons reacted on his live podcast.
