Los Angeles Deputy Mayor of Public Safety Brian Williams was placed on administrative leave following an investigation into a bomb threat he allegedly made against City Hall earlier this year, Mayor Karen Bass’ office announced Wednesday, Dec. 18.

Officials say FBI agents searched the home of a Los Angeles deputy mayor this week as part of an investigation into whether he made a bomb threat against City Hall.

The FBI and FAA are warning people not to point lasers in the sky, citing a surge in pilots getting hit in the eyes over the New Jersey area.

Don’t shoot guns or point lasers at mysterious drones in the sky. According to the FBI, pilots of manned aircraft are increasingly being blinded by lasers as people on the ground mistakenly believe they are targeting unmanned drones.

Recent drone sightings have prompted a collective sense of panic from some residents, despite assurances from U.S. intelligence agencies and the Defense Department.
