SAN FRANCISCO, CA – Renowned tabla maestro Ustad Zakir Hussain, who passed away at 73 on December 15, was laid to rest on December 19 at Fernwood Cemetery, Mill Valley.

Renowned musician Ustad Zakir Hussain passed away due to complications from idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis on Sunday night. He was hospitalized in San Francisco for two weeks before his condition worsened.

Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, the condition the tabla maestro suffered from, is primarily seen in older adults, particularly men.
