A judge granted a protective order against a Carlsbad, California, man who authorities allege was communicating with the Abundant Life Christian School shooting suspect.

Authorities say Alexander Paffendorf told the Madison school shooter he planned to attack a government building.

Investigators are still trying to figure out a motive for the shooting in Madison that killed a teacher and a student.
