Amazon workers went on strike over pay outside a warehouse in New York. Thousands of Amazon employees claiming they are underpaid downed tools outside the depot in Maspeth, Queens, on December 20, demanding better pay and improved working conditions.

Amazon has a couple hundred employees at each delivery station. The Teamsters mainly have focused on organizing delivery drivers, who work for contractors that handle package deliveries for the company. But Amazon has rebuffed demands to come to the negotiating table since it doesn’t consider the drivers to be its employees.

The Teamsters union is launching a strike against Amazon at numerous locations across the country, including in Maspeth, Queens.
