Two new designs are etched into the crystals for this year's New Year's Eve Ball Drop. The 2025 One Times Square Crystal design features long linear cuts with a circle near the top. These symbols represent the iconic building and the 139’ pole that the ball slides down each New Year's Eve at midnight.

Gillinder Glass or Port Jervis, which has been producing high-quality glass since 1861, played a key role in creating the 2,688 crystal-clear triangles that adorn this year’s ball.

New York City is ready to ring in the new year. The iconic, seven-foot-tall 2025 numerals are arriving in Times Square on Wednesday. You can stop and take photos with them at Duffy Plaza starting at 11 a.

Starting at 11am at the Times Square Broadway Plaza between 46th and 47th Streets on Thursday, December 19, One Times Square will invite the public to change out the ball’s current Waterford Crystal triangles, which will be on a one-of-a-kind display, for the newly designed triangles for 2025—the ones that will descend on December 31.

This year, one local New York company will have some bragging rights as we count down to 2025 in Times Square.

The 2025 numerals that light up on New Year’s Eve atop a Times Square building are on display at ground level in New York for photo ops for the next few days.

The numbers, which stand 7 feet tall, arrived at Broadway Plaza, between 46th and 47th streets, on Wednesday morning. They'll stay in place for public viewing until Dec. 23. CBS News New York's Cindy Hsu reports.
