Cronin is penning the script for the new Mummy movie, as well as directing. He’ll have James Wan of The Conjuring movies and Jason Blum on his side as producers, along with his Evil Dead Rise producer John Keville. Other than that, we just have this Instagram teaser:

The Mummy is set for a horror reimagining in 2026. Lee Cronin, writer and director of 2023’s Evil Dead Rise, is on board to write and direct this new take for horror film specialist Blumhouse Productions.

Director Lee Cronin’s mysterious next movie has officially been revealed, and it’s a new horror film titled The Mummy from New Line, with Blumhouse co-producing the project. What do we know about The Mummy?

Mummies tend to be the movie territory of Universal, which famously has the titular character part of its cabinet of monsters in the 1930s and 1940s and revived this century in movies starring Brendan Fraser and Tom Cruise. Hammer Films, however, did its own The Mummy movie in 1959 that starred Christopher Lee.

The Mummy,' a new take on the film subgenre from Lee Cronin, is in the works at New Line, Deadline has confirmed.
