As Kansas State gears up for the Rutgers Scarlet Knight, storylines have been flying around regarding the transfer portal, new recruits, and possible breakout performances. But a more light-hearted note was the Wildcats getting to unveil their new uniforms in the Rate Bowl.

K-State has modified its uniforms only seven times since 2009, and the Wildcats haven’t won a game in alternate gear since 2013. Klieman has mixed things up four times since he took over as coach in 2019 and the Wildcats have gone 0-4 in those games, with losses to Baylor (2019), West Virginia (2019), Navy (2019) and Tulane (2022).

Kansas State will have a new group of starters when it returns to the football field against Rutgers at the Rate Bowl later this month in Phoenix. Chris Klieman has made several notable changes to the K-State depth chart since the Wildcats finished the regular season at 8-4.

Rate Bowl: Rutgers (7-5) vs. Kansas State (8-4), Dec. 26 at 5:30 p.m. EST. The Wildcats rank fourth with 5.9 yards per carry, compared to the 4.9 per rush the Scarlet Knights give up (104th in the FBS). Rutgers averages 4.4 yards per carry (62nd in college football) compared to the 3.5 per attempt Kansas State gives up (19th in the FBS).
