The attacks were the latest Israeli violations of the ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement that took hold in Gaza on Jan. 19, halting Israel’s brutal war, which has killed nearly 48,500 Palestinians, most of them women and children, and left the enclave in ruins.

Israel carried out an air strike in northern Gaza on Sunday, rattling an already fragile ceasefire as fresh talks in Doha are set to take place on Monday. Israel's military said the air strike targeted Hamas terrorists who "were identified operating in proximity to IDF troops and attempting to plant an explosive device in the ground in northern Gaza.

The move is part of an escalating pressure campaign, but the Palestinian enclave gets most of its power from generators.
